Discounts
Overview
Learn what discounts are and the available activation modes, rewards, and scopes.
Discounts allow you to create promotions that reduce what customers pay. You can configure these in the dashboard by navigating to the Discounts section in the left sidebar.
Customers see discounts as price badges on menu items, a minimum-order progress hint, a coupon input field at checkout, and detailed discount lines in the order summary.
Activation Modes
Discounts are applied in one of two ways:
- Automatic: Applied automatically to every eligible order without any action from the customer.
- Coupon code: Applied only when the customer enters the specific code at checkout. Coupon codes must be between 2 and 32 characters, using only Latin letters (A-Z), numbers, hyphens, or underscores. Codes are automatically uppercased.
Reward Types
You can choose from three types of rewards:
- Percentage off: Reduces the price by a specified percentage. You can also set an optional maximum discount that caps the total saving from this percentage discount.
- Fixed amount off: Reduces the price by a set amount in your currency.
- Buy X get Y free: Customers buy a specific quantity and get an additional quantity free (often called BOGO).
Scope Options
The scope determines what the discount applies to. You have four options:
- Whole order: The discount applies to the entire order subtotal.
- Specific products: The discount applies only to selected items.
- Specific menus: The discount applies to any item within selected menus.
- Specific categories: The discount applies to any item within selected categories.
Note: The "Buy X get Y free" reward cannot apply to the whole order. It must target specific products, menus, or categories.
Availability Controls
You have precise control over when and how discounts are used. You can restrict discounts by:
- Order types: Delivery, Pickup, or Dine-in.
- Minimum order value: The required amount before the discount applies.
- Start and end dates: Specific periods for seasonal promotions.
- Weekly schedule: Specific days and time windows.
- First order only: Limit the discount to new customers.
- Usage limits: Maximum total redemptions or redemptions per customer.
